About Seeley CDP, California

Seeley is a census-designated place (CDP) in Imperial County, California, United States. The population was 2,805 at the 2010 census, up from 2,715 at the 2000 census. It is part of the ‘El Centro, California Metropolitan Statistical Area’.

The Seeley area was originally settled by farmers in the early 1900s. The town was named after one of the early settlers, J.W. Seeley. The Seeley CDP was created by the US Census Bureau in 1980.

The economy of Seeley is based on agriculture and tourism. The area is home to several farms, as well as a few tourist attractions such as the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreational Area.

Seeley is located in the southwestern corner of Imperial County, south of the city of El Centro. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.4 square miles (8.8 km2), all land.
