Stanislaus County is a county located in the Central Valley of the U.S. state of California. As of the 2010 census, the population was 514,453. The county seat is Modesto.

The county was established in 1854 and is named for the Stanislaus River.

The county is home to a large number of wineries and is a major producer of agriculture. The county is also home to Turlock Lake State Recreation Area and Modesto Reservoir State Recreation Area.
