About Stevinson CDP, California

Stevinson CDP, California is a census-designated place (CDP) in Merced County, California, United States. The population was 1,965 at the 2010 census, up from 1,409 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Atwater-Winton-Groveland CCD.

The Stevinson post office opened in 1871, closed in 1874, reopened in 1875, and moved to its current location in 1876. The name honors William J. Stevinson, who owned a ranch here in the 1870s.

The community is located along State Route 33/152, 5mi west of Atwater.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.8square miles (2.1km2), all of it land.
