About Temelec CDP, California

Temelec is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sonoma County, California, United States. The population was 3,433 at the 2010 census. It is located near the city of Sonoma, and its name derives from the Native American tribe that once inhabited the area.

In the late 19th century, Temelec was a popular resort destination for San Franciscans. The development of the California State Railroad led to an increase in tourism, and Temelec became known for its mineral springs. The town began to decline in the early 20th century, however, and today it is a mostly residential community.

Despite its small size, Temelec has a variety of amenities, including several parks, a golf course, and a community center. There are also several wineries in the area, making it a popular destination for wine lovers.
