About Trinity Village CDP, California

Trinity Village is a census-designated place (CDP) in Humboldt County, California, United States. The population was 1,636 at the 2010 census, up from 1,317 at the 2000 census. It is located on the Trinity River, southwest of Willow Creek.

The CDP includes the unincorporated community of Big Bar and the former town site of Douglas City. It is home to the Trinity Alps Wilderness and the Lewiston Lake recreation area.

The Douglas City post office opened in 1854, closed in 1858, reopened in 1865, and moved to its current location in Trinity Village in 1881. The name “Douglas City” was transferred to Trinity Village in 1963.
