About North Edwards CDP, California

North Edwards is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 3,743 at the 2010 census, up from 3,642 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Bakersfield metropolitan area.

The community was named for Judge Benjamin Edwards, who settled in the area in 1854.

The North Edwards CDP includes the unincorporated community of North Edwards as well as the neighboring community of South Edwards. Both communities are located on State Route 58, between the cities of Mojave and Boron.

North Edwards is home to Antelope Valley College, a community college serving the Antelope Valley. The college is located just off State Route 58, west of North Edwards.
