Taft Heights is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 2,625 at the 2010 census, up from 2,395 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Bakersfield Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The Taft Heights CDP is located in southern Kern County, bordered to the north by the city of Taft and to the south by the unincorporated community of South Taft. To the west is the Midway-Sunset Oil Field, and to the east is the Temblor Range. California State Route 33 runs through the center of Taft Heights, leading north 5mi to downtown Taft and south 34mi to Maricopa.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the Taft Heights CDP has a total area of 1.3sqmi, all land.
