Taft Mosswood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 2,636 at the 2010 census, up from 1,855 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Bakersfield metropolitan area.
The CDP includes the unincorporated community of Taft Heights and the adjacent unincorporated community of Mosswood. The two communities are commonly referred to as Taft.
Taft is located in southwestern Kern County, at an elevation of 541 feet (165 m). It is bordered to the east by Fellows, to the south by Ford City, and to the west by Buttonwillow. To the north, Taft Mosswood extends to the edge of Kern Lake.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.0 square miles (10 km2), all of it land.
