About Valley Home CDP, California

Valley Home is a census-designated place (CDP) in Stanislaus County, California, United States. The population was 1,555 at the 2010 census, up from 1,531 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Modesto Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The community was founded in 1852 by John Valley, for whom it is named. It was originally called “Valley’s Station”, but the name was later shortened to “Valley Home”. A post office operated at Valley Home from 1854 to 1858, and again from 1870 to 1871.

Valley Home is located in southern Stanislaus County, west of Turlock. California State Route 132 passes through the community, leading east 10 miles (16 km) to downtown Modesto and west 21 miles (34 km) to Patterson.
