About Valley Ranch CDP, California

Valley Ranch is a census-designated place (CDP) in Orange County, California, United States. The population was 3,552 at the 2010 census, up from 2,813 at the 2000 census.

The area now known as Valley Ranch was originally part of the Rancho San Joaquin, a Spanish land grant awarded to Juan Pablo Peralta in 1845. In the early 1900s, the area was subdivided and sold as farmland. In 1971, construction began on the Valley View Golf Club, which would eventually become the centerpiece of the community.

In 1977, the first residents moved into what would become Valley Ranch. The community was originally designed as a retirement community, but has since evolved into a family-oriented neighborhood.

Valley Ranch is located in the Santa Ana Valley, just east of the city of Tustin. It is bordered by the Tustin Unified School District to the north and west, and by the Orange Unified School District to the south and east.

The community is served by the Valley Ranch Branch Library of the Orange County Public Libraries system.
