West Sacramento is a city located in Yolo County, California. The population was 48,744 at the 2010 census. It is adjacent to Sacramento, the state capital of California.

West Sacramento is part of the Sacramento–Arden-Arcade–Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The earliest European settlers in West Sacramento were of Portuguese descent, and the city was founded in 1848 as a result of the California Gold Rush.

The city is home to Raley Field, an Minor League Baseball stadium which hosts the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. The city is also home to the Port of West Sacramento, one of the busiest ports on the West Coast of the United States.
